Green Party Policy
- Empty homes repaired, before building new homes
- Protect green belt land - there is enough empty housing
- Term 'voluntary homelessness' to be banned
- Councils responsible for housing all people - not just pregnant and mothers
- Legalise drugs to get people off them - cause of many homeless problems
- Better long-term hostel care for homeless and companion animals
- Good percentage of all housing must be deemed 'affordable'
- All new public housing must be accessible by public transport
- Eco tax reductions for materials like straw bale, cob and rammed earth
- Encourage use of local building materials
- Free insulation for every home that needs it
