Transport
Green Party Policy
- Bring railways under public ownership
- Stations, railways and trains owned together
- Walking and bike-friendly communities
- Public bike parks
- Light rail systems
- Universal access for disabled
- 20mph speed limit on residential streets -like mainland Europe
- Encourage pay-as-you-go car clubs
- Abolish road tax, replace with fuel duty
Strict safety labelling, like for antifreeze: For now, buy safer (none are safe) versions, and clean (don't mop) spills, and take the rest down to toxic waste. It's best to just let your mechanic change antifreeze for you. A new law is coming into effect in several areas, to add a compulsory bittering agent, to protect animals.
